Dajjal’s Deception Within the Pillars of Islam

The Messenger of Allah SAW stated that Islam is built upon five matters: syahadah, solat, zakat, haji and fasting during Ramadan.

Dajjal’s work, on the other hand, is to turn something from truth into falsehood, to divert it from what is straight to what is crooked or to disguise what is false until it appears to be true.

What Is the Evidence That Dajjal Will Invert All the Pillars of Islam?

There will certainly be people who ask:

“What is the evidence that Dajjal will invert all the Pillars of Islam?”

The answer is that we need to understand Dajjal’s objective and method of operation. The reason is simple: committing evil does not require prior textual evidence.

The hadith do not necessarily have to state one by one that Dajjal will invert syahadah, solat, zakat, fasting and haji. However, the Messenger of Allah SAW explained that Dajjal is a great fitnah that will alter the reality of things.

He presents the image of Jannah and Hell. What appears to be Jannah is actually Hell.

If Dajjal’s objective is to mislead people away from the path brought by the messengers, then he does not need to introduce an entirely new religion openly. If he brings a new religion, he will be rejected.

A more effective method is to preserve the name and outward form of the religion while inverting its meaning.

The Qur’an itself explains that Shaytan will wait for human beings along the straight path in order to mislead them.

What does Shaytan mean here?

Shayatin from among the jinn and evil human beings.

An Evildoer Will Not Reveal His Tricks

Does someone who intends to commit evil need to reveal all of his methods and tricks beforehand?

Certainly not.

A deceiver does not need to announce whether he is going to lie, distort facts or disguise himself. We are the ones who need to understand the nature of his actions.

What is required is evidence of his objective and his pattern of behaviour. The same applies to Dajjal.

If his primary objective is to mislead human beings, then logically he will attack the foundations of the religion conveyed by the Messenger of Allah SAW.

How Can the Pillars of Islam Be Inverted?

I will provide a more detailed explanation later. For now, I will give a brief explanation first.

Syahadah

Syahadah originally affirms the Oneness of Allah and acknowledges Prophet Muhammad SAW as the Messenger of Allah. It can be distorted gradually until people begin inserting a particular figure as a sacred person.

Eventually, the words of a human being are treated as the words of Allah and obedience to a human being is treated as obedience to Allah.

Solat

Solat may continue to be performed outwardly. However, the qiblah begins to be questioned. It is claimed that the qiblah is not in Makkah because what is in Makkah is supposedly false.

There is also the concept of inner or spiritual solat. Yet the direction of the heart and human obedience changes. Ordinary solat is abandoned and replaced with obedience to the imam.

Eventually, solat is interpreted as turning towards and submitting to a system and to a leader who claims to be the absolute representative of God.

Zakat

Zakat can be transformed from an act of worship and a social trust into a tool for controlling people. Wealth is given to those who obey the system and withheld from those who reject falsehood.

Wealth must be handed over to particular leaders and organisations. If wealth is not surrendered according to their rules, then one’s obedience, which has now been defined as “solat”, will be questioned.

Solat has already been changed from ordinary solat into having no solat at all and has been replaced with obedience to the imam or leader. The new pillar of zakat will then also be invalidated when a person is considered disobedient.

Fasting

Fasting may remain merely as the act of abstaining from food and drink while the soul is no longer trained to submit to Allah.

People may refrain from eating and drinking while at the same time surrendering their will, thoughts and obedience to Dajjal.

The month of Ramadan has also been changed to December. Fasting is merged with Christmas. A month of fasting is no longer observed during Ramadan but instead during December.

Haji

Haji has also been abolished because the Kaaba is propagated as being false.

Haji is therefore regarded as no longer obligatory until the imam builds a new Kaaba at the place claimed to be the true location.

That Is Dajjal’s Deception

Dajjal does not need to abolish the names of the Pillars of Islam. It is enough for him to change the direction and form of human obedience.

Allah is still mentioned, but a human being is obeyed as God.

Solat is still mentioned, but loyalty is given to a leader.

Zakat is still collected, but it is turned into a tool of control.

Fasting is still practised, but its month is changed.

Haji is postponed because the Kaaba is claimed to be false.

This is what is meant by inverting the Pillars of Islam.

Its outward form may still look like religion, but its reality has changed from submission to Allah into submission to a human being.

This Fitnah Exists Out There

For some people, what I have described above may be new to you. But it exists and is widespread out there.

It is simply that Allah has decreed that you have not yet encountered it and have continued to be protected from it.

What has been written here is only a small part of the fitnah of Dajjal.

But why do people not take the fitnah of Dajjal within the Pillars of Islam seriously?

Because many people assume that matters like these are solely the responsibility of the ulama and that ordinary people have no right to involve themselves.

Slogans such as “obey the ulama”, “ask the experts”, “obey the leaders” and “obey the ulul amri” have become so common that ordinary people begin to feel unqualified to understand their own religion.

And that is where Dajjal can infiltrate.
